Coaches are drowning in the buffet of shiny software tools, 17-step funnels and AI gizmos… with zero paying clients. Daniel and Faisal unpacked how that’s actually just procrastination in disguise, to hand you the tiniest tool list on earth, to help you finally focus on the minimum system of fundamentals that actually matters: having consistent conversations that lead to paid coaching.
Here’s what you can delete today and still sign your next client!
1. If You Can’t Close on Zoom, No CRM Will Save You
Daniel and Faisal started with this: “You can literally build a six-figure coaching business with Zoom and a spreadsheet… maybe just paper.” Every hour you spend comparing CRMs is an hour you’re hiding from the uncomfortable outreach that actually moves the needle. Clients don’t pay for your tech stack; they pay for the outcome you create in a conversation.
Coach takeaway
Audit your week. Anything that isn’t:
- reaching out,
- holding a discovery call, or
- following up with an offer
gets parked in a “someday” folder. Refocus for 30 days and watch your client count outgrow your software tab count.
2. Fancy Is the New Procrastination of Hidden Avoidance
Everyone is selling the “perfect” marketing or organizing solution. But it rarely aligns to what you need. And even if it did, it takes times to learn it, set it up, and build a habit of using it, to then realize it WASN’T the silver bullet you needed!
Coach takeaway
Next time you catch yourself thinking, “I’ll start outreach once I get the perfect ______,” pause and send one outreach/followup message before you open the next tab. That subtle avoidance is often hard to notice. The discomfort you feel is the workout you need.
3. The 4-Tool Starter Kit (Everything Else Is Optional)
By minute 30 they boiled it down:
- Communication: email + phone + text or WhatsApp
- Calls: Zoom or Google Meet
- Money: Venmo or PayPal or Zelle or Wise or etc.
- (Optional) Visibility: phone camera + one social platform
That’s it. Faisal said that his 90% referral business still runs on this stack; the CRM, funnel builder and ring light only showed up after the revenue could pay for them. Daniel ignored social media for years and high-ticket clients stilled sign up.
Coach takeaway
Open a note, list every subscription you’re currently paying for. Cancel or pause anything you haven’t opened in the last 14 days. Move the saved cash into a “coaching investment fund” for later when the time is RIGHT to invest, then go communicate with prospects.
4. 70 % Rule: Sales Is the Only System That Funds the Rest
Faisal shared The Ratio: “Seventy percent of your effort should be outreach, discovery calls, offers, follow-up. Period.” Daniel added the final tool in the stack: PATIENCE. Most coaches quit the real work at month two because the tribe-brain screams, “This is risky! Go tweak the website instead.” But it’s more about resilience and reps than any tech.
Coach takeaway
Block two non-negotiable hours every weekday labeled “Sales Reps.” During that window you message five people, book one call, send follow-ups. Then repeat.
Track your numbers somewhere, like in a Google Sheet. When you hit 30 reps, review: you’ll have more clients and real data to prove what is actually working.
End the Buffet, Go Make Offers
Your next client won’t care about your funnel as much as they will care that you can help them get unstuck. So face the discomfort and rack up reps, adding tools only when the business demands them, not when your fear does.
