Buying the perfect tech will solve everything RIGHT? WRONG!

Navigating the Maze of Coaching Platforms: Where to Begin?

Choosing the right platforms for your coaching business can feel like navigating a maze, with new options popping up every day, each promising to be the ultimate solution. In a recent discussion, Faisal and Rex delved into the complexities of selecting the right technologies for coaching businesses. They explored the journey from being a solopreneur to thinking like a business owner, offering valuable insights for coaches at every stage. As a coach, are you leveraging the right tools to maximize your time and impact, or are you still trying to do it all yourself?

1. Start Simple: The Essentials for New Coaches
When you’re just starting out, the goal is simple: get clients. You don’t need to overwhelm yourself with complex systems. Rex advised, “You really don’t need anything. What you need is clients, and you can do that with a phone.” For new coaches, a basic setup is all you need to get rolling. A Zoom account, a payment processing system like PayPal, and a way to track leads, such as Trello, can set the foundation.Application Tip: Focus on building your client base. Use simple tools that help you connect, like Calendly for scheduling and Zoom for meetings. Avoid the temptation to over-invest in technology before you’ve secured a steady stream of clients.

2. Build the Machine: Scaling Up Your Coaching Business
Once you’ve secured a few clients and your practice is growing, it’s time to think about scalability. This is where platforms like Kajabi can come into play. Faisal shared how he leveraged Kajabi to create courses and nurture leads, saying, “It was a cool way to leverage a course to build clients.” At this stage, start automating some processes to free up more of your time for coaching and client engagement.Application Tip: Begin creating resources like online videos or courses to nurture potential clients. Use a platform like Kajabi to automate email sequences and track client progress. This allows you to focus on delivering high-quality coaching without getting bogged down in admin tasks.

3. Think Like a Business Owner: The Importance of Delegation
As your business grows, so does the importance of delegation. Rex highlighted, “There’s somebody who has a lot of money and values time, and there’s somebody who has a lot of time and doesn’t want to spend the money.” Investing in help can save you valuable time. By hiring experts to handle technology or administrative tasks, you can focus more on your clients and less on the backend operations.Delegation Strategy: Start small by outsourcing tasks that take up too much of your time. Consider hiring a virtual assistant or a tech expert to handle specific areas of your business. This investment can pay off significantly as it allows you to focus on growth and client satisfaction.
